Hello!

My name is Janelle Slingerland. This is my third year teaching at Providence and I am so excited about the upcoming school year!

A bit about me: I grew up and lived in Calgary, Alberta for almost 26 years and moved down to the Lethbridge area when I got my job here in Providence in 2020. Moving from a big city to a rural community has been interesting, but it has been a wonderful experience! 

I attended Ambrose University in Calgary and graduated with a Bachelor of Education After Degree in April 2020. My undergraduate is a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English Literature from the same university in 2018. Before this, I completed my Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 8 piano exams. I completed a Journalism diploma in 2015 from SAIT. I believe learning is a life-long process and I can’t wait to share my love for education with you.

I love the mountains and exploring, trying new foods, traveling to new places, cooking and baking and reading.

I am so blessed to be teaching in a school where the community values Christian education and Reformed Christian values. I pray God will give me strength, wisdom, grace, and humility to teach your children in the upcoming year. I look forward to what God has in store for not only myself but for your children.
